Alex Bank
In Celebration of World Saving Day and under the Auspices of the Central bank of Egypt. ALEXBANK Launches "Hady Bady", a Game to Raise Financial Awareness Among Children.
ALEXBANK launches the digital application of “Hady Bady”, a financial literacy game released in 2018 in its physical version, which aims to educate children on basic financial concepts, including saving, spending, and donating. The application is the first digital educational game designed and powered by an Egyptian bank, which comes along with the CBE’s financial education and inclusion strategic directions. Additionally, “Hady Bady” can be considered one of the first digital financial literacy games in the world to be availed both in Arabic and in English, giving children across the MENA region the chance to play this game in their native language.

Hady Bady is a financial literacy app, developed by Appsinnovate for Alexbank to teach children the 3 main elements of financial literacy: saving, spending and donating, through engaging edutainment activities. Enjoy the magical world of Hady Bady and learn how to manage your savings effectively and engage with the community through fun activities!
The Challenge
Traditional financial literacy initiatives often succeed in explaining basic concepts like saving and budgeting, but struggle to inspire long-term habit formation. Personal finance can feel abstract or overwhelming, particularly for children and young adults who respond better to interactive, hands-on learning experiences.
Alex Bank required an approach for Hady Bady that would move beyond conventional advice to build practical money management habits early. The objective was to make financial education intuitive, engaging, and directly applicable to everyday choices.
The challenge was to bridge the gap between financial awareness and action, transforming abstract concepts into rewarding, real-world behaviors that empower young users to manage money with confidence.
The Solution
Hady Bady was designed as an interactive, gamified financial learning platform that guides young users through real-life scenarios involving saving, spending, and budgeting. Users navigate everyday financial decisions, learning firsthand how thoughtful choices impact their personal goals and overall financial health.
Through interactive challenges and age-appropriate simulations, players learn how practical actions, such as setting savings targets, distinguishing between needs and wants, and tracking routine expenses, build long-term financial independence.
The experience combines clear educational modules, playful game mechanics, rewards, and progression tracking to reinforce positive money habits and encourage continuous engagement with core financial principles.

Hady Bady demonstrates how gamification can transform youth financial literacy initiatives into meaningful learning experiences. By actively involving young users in decision-making rather than simply presenting passive financial advice, the platform significantly improves engagement and knowledge retention.
The project highlights the growing role of interactive digital platforms and gamification in supporting institutional financial inclusion programs. Through innovative educational experiences, Alex Bank creates measurable impact, achieving over 100,000 downloads, session durations 50% above industry average, and a completion rate exceeding 70%,while empowering future generations to build healthy, lifelong money habits.
